After my life changing experience at Magnolia Bakery, I fell in love with cupcakes. Not just the taste, but the experience I have when eating one. I love how the sweet smell of sugar wafts up my nose and my lips get lost in the icing with each bite. I love how the moist cake melts when it meets my tongue. I love when I put just the right amount of batter in the cupcake liner so that it bakes just right up to the edge. Then adding the perfect amount of icing so that I get equal amounts of icing and cake with each bite. Cupcakes have become my guilty pleasure and my latest obsession. Continue reading
Magnolia Bakery’s Vanilla Cupcakes
I first visited Magnolia Bakery in NYC about 3 years ago. They were giving out samples of several cupcakes while I was waiting in line. I tasted the Vanilla Vanilla cupcake and it changed my life! I had never tasted anything like it. I ate as many as I could during the visit. Since I could only take so many with me, I had to figure out a way to hold me over until my next visit. So I got the recipe online, tweaked it to perfection and here it is.
