After watching countless kid videos on YouTube, Journey decided she wanted to start her own series. Naturally, I was on board. I loved the idea of her living her own dream instead of watching other people live theirs. Of course this meant adding producing and editing a weekly video to my list of things to do. Oh…and did I mention that I don’t even know how to edit video? Continue reading

I am working out of town this week and have had the worst internet connection ever! I literally tried to post this blog for like 8 hours yesterday and it just wasn’t happening. So I’m a day late but I finally got it to go through.
Journey has finished camp for the summer and has taken her challenge on the road. I am so glad I have this to keep her busy! As we wrap up the challenge for week 3, here’s a quick recap of week 2. Continue reading

As soon as school was out, Journey said to me, “I wonder if I’m going to get picked to do that fun challenge again this summer.” Even though she’s in summer camp, she still has quite a bit of free time when she gets home. So the Super Fun Summer Challenge is back to help beat summer boredom! Last year during the challenge, Journey built a lego city as an architect, wrote a business plan as an entrepreneur, saved the planet as an eco-superhero, and did our family tree as a genealogist. And this year’s challenge will be even better! Here’s how you can get your kids from in front of the television and in on some serious summer fun: Continue reading
Monday is the first day of the long winter break. While I love spending this extra time with Journey, keeping her busy can be quite challenging. So this year, we are going to use the break to learn more about our family—and have some fun along the way. I’m sharing our project so that you can do it too!
This week I’ve been preparing for the 7 hour drive ahead of us to get home for Thanksgiving. Each time we take this trip, I pack an arsenal of stuff to keep the kid occupied during the ride. But no matter what she has going on in the back seat, she still manages to ask me the dreaded question, “Are we there yet?” at least once an hour. Then she spends the next 5 minutes whining about how it is “going to take forever!” and blah, blah, blah. By the time we get to our destination, I’m ready to barricade myself in a room with a bottle of wine! Continue reading
Last week was the first week doing the challenge while on vacation. I had to work out of town for the week, so Journey spent the week with family. But she still finished her challenge! Here’s a quick week 7 recap… Continue reading
